Series 2 of 5: Your Goal Is Calling, But You’re Too Busy Trying to Quit

Hi Reader,

I hope you know you are MORE THAN CAPABLE of working towards anything you put your mind to. You are capable of the work it takes, you are worthy of the time it takes and you deserve to allow yourself to dream and make those goals happen.

Did you get your goal written down like I mentioned in the email last week? If you missed it, you can read it here

This is a very important step in the process because:

1-we forget sometimes that we are working towards something BIG and need the reminder

2-we get busy and See #1

3-we need a consistent reminder in our view to tell our minds to keep moving in that direction. BTW this works because.... you know how when you decide you want to buy a new car, you've picked the kind and color you want and now you see them everywhere? It's the same with your goals. You'll start to notice things that will help you get to your goals :)

4-we have days that we are tired, emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, sad, angry, frustrated and need a reminder that after today or the next few days have passed we have something BIG to work on; a reminder we need to get out of our own way and our own head and work on it

5-because we are humans, we get into habits, those old habits are hard to break. Working towards something BIG is about creating new habits and we need the reminder

WRITE IT DOWN, put it where you will see it everyday even multiple times a day if needed. WRITE IT DOWN. Put it on your bathroom mirror, on your phone homescreen, on your kitchen cabinets, on your car dash, on your computer- anywhere you will see it. WRITE IT DOWN

Now that it is written down let's change our environment to make it easier. Remember what I mentioned above, humans are creatures of habit? Well unless we consciously make an effort to change we aren't going to change or work towards something harder.

Ask yourself, what are the habits of the person who is doing what I want to do.
If you want to drink more water in a day, create your environment so you always have water with you; Maybe you get a big water bottle to drink throughout the day. Maybe you put a glass of water on your nightstand, drink it when you wake and go to bed. Or maybe you put a glass of water by the coffee maker and you have to drink it before you get to drink your coffee.

Is exercising on your goal list? Aim for 2 days a week at first so you can change your other habits to make time for working out. Then get your workout clothes ready the night before so you don't have to think about it when you wake up. We all know the distractions at home that can derail you from working out so plan to go to the gym BEFORE you go home after work.

If exercising after work is not an option and getting up early is too hard- start waking up just 5 min early each day, then increase it by 5 min every week. During those extra 5 min early on you can do some light stretching to get your body moving. When you have reached getting up 30 min extra- you can start working out in the morning.

Maybe you want to eat less sugar. Stop purchasing the things you don't want to eat. If they are not in your house you are not able to eat them. Until you can trust yourself around it, eliminate it from your daily living area. BTW you can totally trust yourself around it at some point, maybe just not right now.

Find little things that will make it easier for you to work towards your goal so it isn't so much mental work to make it happen. Allow yourself to SLOWLY make these changes because most people quit when it feels too overwhelming.

Getting goals is a journey, enjoy it, learn all the ins and outs and keep working towards it no matter if you get taken off course.

This week, get those goals written down and change your environment to allow you to be successful.

Please forward this email to someone you know who can benefit. I love getting this information out to others so they can be successful in their goals as well.
